Tennessee House to review CON reform bill: 4 things to know

Today, HB 1730, a piece of a certificate of need reform legislation bill, will be the sole subject of a 90-minute Tennessee House health committee meeting, according to The Tennessean.

Here are four things to know about the bill.

1. Representative Cameron Sexton (R-25th District) is the bill's House sponsor.

2. Senator Todd Gardenhire (R-Chattanooga) is sponsoring the Senate version of the bill, SB 1842.

3. The legislation includes a number of potential reforms, including increasing the capital threshold for new projects regulated by CON law, according to the report.

4. Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., is one of the healthcare providers supporting CON reformation, according to the report.
