Edgewood, Ky.-based St. Elizabeth Healthcare and Cincinnati-based OrthoCincy Orthopedics & Sports Medicine are building a surgical training center and conference venue in Erlanger, Ky., the Cincinnati Business Courier reports.
Here's what you should know:
1. The center will accommodate physicians throughout Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and beyond.
2. The groups invested $800,000 jointly, which will be used to retrofit the center.
3. The office will allow physicians to practice new surgical techniques and test new medical devices.
4. The center will be setup like an operating room, allowing for simulated surgeries.
5. St. Elizabeth's Assistant Vice President for Orthopedics & Neurosciences Tony Hyott said, "This is less about competitiveness and more about being a place to learn and train."
