CEO Kayleen Lee said the hospital struggles with its ability to provide more ambulatory services with the physical constraints of a building designed for inpatient services. The project, which is expected to be completed in fall 2013, has been more than six years in the making.
The new 123,500-square-foot medical facility will be built on the edge of town and includes 107,000 square feet of hospital space and 16,500 square feet for primary and specialty clinics. The Sioux Center hospital is affiliated with Avera Health, a regional healthcare system based in Sioux Falls.
