Officially set for Feb. 20, the closure marks the end to a 20-year, 14,000-surgery run for the center, which will now be moved to Meritus Medical Center.
Michael Reyka, executive director of ambulatory services for Meritus Medical Center, said that most of the 37 employees at the center will relocate to the hospital, and those who aren’t were not laid off but rather choose not to take on a job at Meritus Medical.
In 2013, Robinwood Surgery Center was lauded by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care in for its commitment to patient care.
The center had been a limited-liability joint venture between Meritus and a group of physician owners.
