Multiple partnerships in the ASC space transpired in the past month:

Regent Surgical Health inked a partnership with Universal Health Services, a 354-hospital chain with facilities across the U.S., to build and operate ASCs.

Silver Spring, Md.-based Capital Digestive Care and Jamison, Pa.-based Physicians Endoscopy on Oct. 28 launched PE Practice Solutions, a physician-oriented management services organization targeting private practice gastroenterologists.

Medline and HOTB Software Solutions partnered to make the accreditation compliance process easier with their Surgical Center Toolbox.

University of Tennessee Medical Center and OrthoTennessee partnered to open an orthopedic surgery center near the university's main campus.

Baton Rouge, La.-based Williamson Eye Center and Baton Rouge General Medical Center partnered to open a practice next to the hospital.

Gastroenterology-focused group purchasing organization Gastrologix partnered with Henry Schein to offer its independent practice members access to discounted medical devices, pharmaceuticals and other accessories.

Software providers HSTpathways and Casetabs collaborated to develop more efficient, functional products for U.S. surgery centers. The companies designed a "bi-directional integration" to improve practice scheduling and schedule accessibility.
