Radiology Partners eyes California market entry through partnership — 5 insights

El Segundo, Calif.-based Radiology Partners entered into the California market with its recent partnership with Northridge, Calif.-based Renaissance Imaging Medical Association.

Here's what you should know:

1. RIMA is the 8th largest independent practice in the U.S., with its 99 physicians and several clinical locations in Southern California.

2. Radiology Partners is marketed as the largest physician-led, physician-owned radiology practice in the U.S. This partnership extends the company's footprint to 800-plus radiologists.

3. In 2017, Radiology Partners closed almost $1 billion in funding and affiliated with "some of the largest and most impactful groups throughout the country," company Chairman and CEO Rich Whitney said.

4. RIMA Chairman and CEO Andrew Deutsch, MD, said, "We chose to partner with Radiology Partners because of their culture, single-specialty focus and their compelling vision for the future of radiology. This partnership will elevate the level of care we provide our patients, help us better serve our referring physicians and client facilities and continue to fuel our growth in California."

5. Dr. Deutsch will join Radiology Partners and continue to serve as RIMA's chairman and CEO.
