PE deals in healthcare increase 200%+ in a decade — What's in store for 2019?

Healthcare has seen a steady increase in deals involving private equity buyers or sellers, and an estimated 169 more will close in the last few weeks of 2018, according to a PwC report.

Here's how many healthcare private equity deals closed every year in the past decade:

6. 2014: 509
7. 2015: 568
8. 2016: 614
9. 2017: 672
10. 2018 (through November): 494
11. 2018 (projected to year end): 663
12. 2019 (projected): 747
