There were around 15 new orthopedic-driven ASCs and six GI centers that opened or were announced in 2017; however, most centers were multispecialty.

Mayo Clinic Health System-Northwest Wisconsin Region submitted a proposal to the Hudson, Wis., planning commission for an approximately 100,000-square-foot medical facility, according to The Post Bulletin. The proposed facility would function as a clinic and outpatient surgery center.

Duncansville, Pa.-based East Freedom Surgical Associates received a $350,000, 5-year loan to purchase equipment for a new ASC, the  Altoona Mirror reports.

Kaiser Permanente in Redwood City, Calif. received approval to condense four outpatient and three administrative facilities into a four-story, 197,800-square-foot building on its Redwood City campus, The Mercury News reports.

CCSC Holdings, a First Choice Healthcare Solutions' subsidiary, acquired an additional 25 percent of Melbourne, Fla.-based Crane Creek Surgery Center, increasing its total ownership interest to 65 percent.
