A medical office building in Upland, Calif., has sold for $8.8 million, according to an Oct. 13 report from REBusiness Online.

Here are three moves regarding Northeastern ASCs that Becker's has reported on since Sept. 28: 

ASCs and hospitals are facing economic challenges as inflation and labor costs soar. 

Sendero Capital and Angelo Gordon have acquired an ASC and outpatient medical building in Torrington, Conn., the Boston Real Estate Times reported Oct. 11.

UC San Diego Health in September got the green light from University of California regents to acquire Alvarado Hospital Medical Center in San Diego from Prime Healthcare. 

As more high-acuity, high-reimbursing procedures transition to the outpatient setting, ASCs are slated to become the preferred low-cost option for surgical procedures. 

A 37,854-square-foot ASC and outpatient medical building in Torrington, Conn., has been acquired by Sendero Capital and Angelo Gordon.

Here are five hospitals who have closed departments or ended services since Sept. 26:

La Grande, Texas-based St. Mark's Medical Center will shutter Oct. 12. 

Optum and Uber have inked a deal that will cover some Medicare Advantage beneficiaries' purchases in the Uber app in 2024.
