Optum Primary Care in Franklin, Ind., will close and its providers will move to different locations, the Daily Journal reported May 25.

A clinic physician, two physician assistants, a respiratory therapist, a nurse practitioner and a neurologist will relocate to Optum Primary Care in Whiteland, according to the report. Another physician is retiring, and three more are leaving Optum to join Franciscan Physician Network.

Optum said it is working directly with patients to transition their care to nearby Optum clinics or other providers of their choice.

“As part of our commitment to making care more affordable, we regularly review services and staffing to meet patient needs and changing market dynamics,” an Optum spokesperson told Becker’s. “Our priority is ensuring patients continue receiving care with minimal disruption, and teams are working with our patients to transition care to other nearby Optum clinics or another provider of their choice.”

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
