Fayette County Memorial Hospital is seeking Fayette County's approval to add three operating rooms to its surgery center, the Record Herald reports.

What you should know:

1. The Washington Court House, Ohio-based hospital is seeking county approval to finance the expansion request.

2. The hospital wants to finance its OR addition, instead of selling an ownership stake in the hospital.

3. The hospital's current operating rooms are from the 1950s.

4. If the hospital receives the county's approval, it would also modernize the hospital's HVAC system.
