Rex Hospital, WakeMed Cary Hospital and Duke University Health System filed appeals with the North Carolina Division of Facilities Management challenging Novant’s plans for an $8.2 million, 13,000-square-foot ASC.

The appeals filing triggers an automatic 270-day mediation period, according to the report. If the organizations fail to resolve their differences during that time, an administrative law judge would review the matter.
