Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro, N.C., opened the first phase of its new surgery center, also in Goldsboro, May 8, the Goldsboro Daily News reports.

1. The hospital is expanding and renovating its existing surgery center.

2. Once complete, the project will add 40,000 square feet to the center.

3. The renovations will include upgrading the center’s operating rooms.

4. The second and final phase is expected to be open in 2019.
