Newly formed urology group offers 'alternative to a hospital acquisition' — 4 insights

U.S. Urology Partners was launched with funding from private investment firm NMS Capital and forged its first practice partnership.

1. CEO Mark Cherney leads U.S. Urology Partners, which was created to give urology groups operational support, management expertise and financial resources while retaining autonomy.

2. Its 50-member team provides services including finance, accounting, revenue cycle management, provider recruitment, human resources, compliance, data analytics, marketing and contracting.

3. The company's first practice partnership is Gahanna-based Central Ohio Urology Group, which has 16 locations, including an ASC.

4. U.S. Urology Partners plans to expand nationally, partnering with urology groups in Ohio and other strategic markets.
