New York Hospital Executives Oppose Southtowns ASC Project

Kaleida Health and a group of 22 physicians have received recommended approval from the New York State Department of Health for the Southtowns Ambulatory Surgery Center project in Orchard Park, N.Y., but the project faces opposition from several nearby hospitals, according to a Buffalo Business First report.

Executives from Catholic Health and its facilities Mercy Hospital and Kenmore Mercy Hospital, interim CEO of Lake Shore Health Care Center and CEO of Bertrand Chaffee Hospital all argue against the project.

The ASC project is set to appear before the full Public Health and Health Planning Council on April 10.
