New York eye surgery centers form new partnership: 3 things to know

The Mackool Eye Institute in Astoria, N.Y., and New York City-based New York Eye Surgery Center partnered with Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island (N.Y.) and Spectrum Vision Partners.

Here are three things to know:

1. "SVP is extremely pleased to be assisting OCLI with its continued growth as these prestigious practices join to expand their partnership of eye care doctors and surgeons in the New York metropolitan area," said SVP CEO Tom Burke in a statement.

2. The Bloom Organization served as an advisor to both New York Eye and The Mackool Eye Institute. Bloom negotiated the terms of the letter of intent and assisted with sell-side diligence on OCLI and Spectrum Vision Partners.

3. OCLI comprises 19 ophthalmology facilities across the New York metropolitan area. It employs 43 eye surgeons, seven optometrists, three physician assistants and one aesthetician.
