The three-story, 50,000-square-foot building houses room for outpatient surgery, as well as a linear accelerator for radiation treatment, a laboratory and a pharmacy. The building also contains clinical offices and departments such as sleep medicine and nephrology.
This is the first structure in the UCLA Health System with LEED Gold recognition, which is given to buildings noted for their green features. The building has efficient water systems, construction with recycled and locally sourced materials and a rooftop photovoltaic system that provides about 15 percent of the building’s energy needs.
