New Michigan-based pain center projects 1.3k+ procedures annually — 3 things to know

Straith Hospital for Special Surgery is in the process of opening a pain center led by newly appointed Medical Director Michael Drelles, Crain’s Detroit Business reports. Both located in Southfield, Mich.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The health system expects the pain center will see more than 1,300 patients and create $1.5 million in projected revenue during its first year of operation.

2. The center will have four procedure rooms and is situated next to the health system’s 34-bed outpatient surgery center.

3. Dr. Drelles is an anesthesiologist. The center is currently seeing patients in its functional procedure rooms as the other rooms are completed.
