New Mexico hospital to open 3 ASCs — 3 insights

Albuquerque, N.M.-based Presbyterian Healthcare Services is in the process of building three ASCs, including a joint venture that could be the region's largest ASC, Albuquerque Business First reports.

What you should know:

1. Presbyterian partnered with Albuquerque-based New Mexico Orthopaedic Associates to develop a 35,600-square-foot surgery center on the campus of Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital in Albuquerque.

2. The health system plans to spend $21.2 million on all three ASCs.

3. Health system administrators are in the process of selecting a contractor.
