The hospital received approval from the Westerville Planning Commission in December.
The surgery center will be included in a 46,000-square-foot building estimated to cost $18.4 million. The first floor will house outpatient ambulatory surgery and feature four operating rooms. The second floor will consist of pediatric surgical subspecialty clinics including plastic surgery and otolaryngology.
Nationwide Children’s Westerville Surgery Center is scheduled to open in early 2012. A total of 30 physicians are expected to rotate through the center, according to the news release.
