New FL Surgery Center Included in Long-Term Plans for Citrus Memorial Health System

Officials for Citrus Memorial Health System, based in Inverness, Fla., have approved a long-term plan for projects that include a new surgery center, according to a Citrus County Chronicle report.

The master plan calls for more than $70 million in recommend improvements to the hospital over the next nine years.

In addition to construction of a new surgery center, on an unspecified site, other plans include a four-story bed tower, replacement of two hospital wins and construction of a parking garage.

While the plan was approved by the Citrus Memorial Health System Foundation board of directors, the members expressed skepticism over reaching the goals outlined because of the significant costs associated with the various projects, according to the report.
