Healthcare real estate company Montecito Medical has purchased a 23,000-square-foot medical office building in Midland, Texas.

The property is fully occupied and includes Midland Ambulatory Surgery Center and Midland Imaging Center, the city’s only freestanding imaging facility, according to a Sept. 22 system news release.

The ASC is a joint venture among physicians, Midland Memorial Hospital and Chicago-based United Surgical Partners International. A local cardiology practice also leases space in the building.

Montecito leaders said the deal fits into their strategy of investing in outpatient facilities, and noted that Texas remains a major focus for future acquisitions.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
