Dan Herrera, associate director of the VA Montana Health Care System, said last week that the expansion project is “fully funded.” Contracts are expected to be awarded this summer, with construction scheduled to finish in 2014.

Once completed, the expanded facility will provide outpatient surgery and specialty service to around 11,000 Montana veterans and 10,000 Wyoming veterans. The expansion is also expected to create up to 70 jobs.
