Mednax acquires Children’s Urology Associates — 5 insights

Mednax acquired Miami-based Children’s Urology Associates, growing the company’s Florida presence.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The practice has offices and hospital-based practices in three Florida counties.

2. The group also participates in several urology residency programs and runs the only Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited fellowship program for pediatric urology in Florida.

3. As a result of the acquisition, Rafael Gosalbez, MD, was appointed medical director of the practice.

4. Mednax paid an undisclosed amount in cash to the practice. The company expects the transaction will be immediately accretive to earnings.

5. This is Mednax’s fourth acquisition in 2018.
