Mayo Clinic’s $1B capital investments include surgery center: 3 notes

Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic made $1 billion worth of strategic investments in 2018, including a surgery center project.

What you should know:

1. The health system earmarked $86 million for a Mankato, Minn.-based surgery center development as well as hospital, cancer center and campus expansions.

2. Mayo Clinic invested $648 million to expand its Phoenix campus, $190 million to expand a building in Rochester and $144 to construct a new building and parking garage in Florida.

3. In 2018, Mayo Clinic’s revenue grew 5.1 percent to $12.6 billion, and its net operating income reached $706 million. The system allocated more than $724 million for capital projects.
