Mayo Clinic expanding existing facility, outpatient procedure center — 4 insights

Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic is expanding the Gonda Building to grow its clinical space.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Mayo is building an 11-floor expansion. Four floors will be clinical space, and the other seven will be for a hotel.

2. Mayo is investing $190 million into the clinical expansion.

3. As a result of the procedure, Mayo will expand its cancer and outpatient procedure centers.

4. Mayo entered into a joint venture with Pontiac Land Group for the hotel. Both Mayo and Pontiac will jointly own the hotel. Mayo said a major hotel group will operate the hotel space.
