LA Dodgers Foundation gives Orthopaedic Institute for Children additional $20k for ASC: 5 key notes

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation gave Los Angeles-based Orthopaedic Institute for Children $20,000 for its recently opened ambulatory surgery center in Los Angeles.

Here are five key notes:

1. The Dodger Foundation previously gave OIC $20,000 for the ASC, making its overall contribution total $40,000.

2. OIC's ASC is the Los Angeles' region's first center built exclusively to serve children.

3. The ASC is 13,000 square feet and houses two operating rooms and six pre- and post-surgical suites.

4. Through the ASC, providers can meet the needs of children with orthopedic conditions.

5. OIC and the Dodgers Foundation have worked together in the past, with OIC hosting a concussion clinic three times annually as part of the Dodgers Youth Baseball Camp.

"There is no more precious resource in the world than children, and our community is a much better place when we all work together with their best interests in mind," said Cindy Starrett, OIC board of trustee member and Los Angeles Foundation's board of director member. "We thank the Dodgers for their generous support of OIC's work and for opening up their hearts in encouragement of our ongoing efforts."
