Employees who wish to receive a severance package must remain with the hospital until May 1, when CKMC will change its name to St. Rose Ambulatory & Surgery Center. According to the report, the conversion to a surgery center will create 10 new jobs, and current employees will be given first consideration.

The 40 percent staff reduction will leave about 200 employees to staff the new facility.
