Joint venture Methodist North Surgery Center closing in January: 3 things to know

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare’s Methodist North Surgery Center is closing in January 2019, according to the Daily Memphian. The health system and surgery center are both located in Memphis, Tenn.

Here are three details to know:

1. The surgery center employs 22 people. Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is working with the employees to find comparable positions within the health system.

2. Located on Methodist North Hospital’s Memphis campus, the center is a joint venture between Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and physician partners.

3. Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare Senior Communications Specialist Mary Alice Taylor told the Daily Memphian, “As the Memphis healthcare marketplace continues to evolve, we have determined that providing outpatient surgery at the joint ventured surgery center is no longer warranted.”
