Illinois’ Loyola University Health System Opens Bariatric Surgery Center

Loyola University Health System has opened a new multi-disciplinary surgery center to treat obesity, according to a Newswise report.

The new Loyola Center for Metabolic Surgery & Bariatric Care is located in Melrose Park. The center will offer patients the expertise of a full team of bariatric specialists, including surgeons, physicians, psychologists, nutritionists and exercise physiologists.

According to the report, surgical procedures offered by the new center will include laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.
