Illinois hospital completes $9.4M outpatient surgery center expansion — 3 insights

HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese, Ill., announced its $9.4 million outpatient surgery center expansion was completed Nov. 9, The Messenger reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Developers expanded the center through a 13,880-square-foot addition. The center now houses 22 ambulatory surgery preoperative and postoperative rooms, four infusion rooms, support spaces, waiting areas and an ambulance garage.

2. Hospital administrators expect to open the expansion to patients in December.

3. HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital President and CEO Chris Klay said to The Messenger, “The design of our new outpatient surgery center will promote operational efficiency and offer a beautiful environment supporting patient privacy.”
