Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital finished the first phase of a multiphase surgery center expansion project, Community Impact reports.

1. Houston Methodist expanded its Centerfield Outpatient Surgery Center.
2. The hospital added four new operating rooms and renovated another.
3. Houston Methodist also added a sterile processing department.
4. The hospital's second phase will increase surgical case capacity by more than 50 percent. That expansion is expected to complete by the second quarter of 2019.
