Hospital Prices Up 1.4% in December

Hospital prices increased 1.4 percent in December, 3.4 percent higher than in Dec. 2008, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Producer Price Index.

The PPI for hospitals measure changes in actual or expected reimbursement received for services across the full range of payor types.

The increases could mark an upward trend for hospital prices, which dropped 0.5 percent in Nov. 2009.
