HCA continues outpatient revenue growth in Q3: 5 things to know

Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare’s revenue is increasingly being driven by outpatient care, according to its third-quarter financial results, which were released Oct. 24:

Here are five things to know about the company’s third quarter:

  1. HCA Healthcare reported more than $19 billion in revenue during the third quarter of 2025, up 9.6% over the third quarter in 2024.
  2. In the third quarter of 2025, outpatient revenues accounted for 38.3% of total patient revenues, up slightly from the third quarter of 2024. 
  3. The company completed more than 253,000 outpatient surgery cases in the third quarter.
  4. Same facility inpatient surgeries increased 1.4 percent, and same facility outpatient surgeries increased 1.1 percent in the third quarter of 2025, compared to the same period of 2024.
  5. HCA Healthcare supports 123 total freestanding outpatient surgery centers.
