Hartford Hospital contemplates Connecticut GI Endoscopy Center acquisition

Hartford (Conn.) Hospital is exploring the possibility of acquiring Connecticut GI Endoscopy Center in Bloomfield, according to a Hartford Business report.

The hospital would purchase a 51 percent stake in the center, pending state approval. The center has 17 physician owners.

If the acquisition moves forward, the hospital will be expanding its relationship with Connecticut GI. In 2007, Hartford Hospital and CTGI Glastonbury partnered to operate Glastonbury (Conn.) Endoscopy Center, according to the report.
