Freeman Health System to Build Surgery Center in Missouri

Freeman Health System will build a freestanding outpatient surgery center in Joplin, Mo., along with Leawood, Kan.-based Nueterra Healthcare and 10 local physicians, according to a report in The Joplin Globe.

The 17,735 square-foot Freeman Surgery Center will include four operating rooms, a procedure room, a swing room that can be used for surgery or procedures, a recovery room and a lounge, according to the report. The center will be leased by Freeman and Nueterra and the investing physicians will own the building.

Many outpatient procedures performed at Freeman Hospital East will be moved to the new center, according to the report.
