First Choice Healthcare Solutions' subsidiary adds to ownership stake in surgery center — 4 insights

CCSC Holdings, a First Choice Healthcare Solutions' subsidiary, acquired an additional 25 percent of Melbourne, Fla.-based Crane Creek Surgery Center, increasing its total ownership interest to 65 percent.

Here's what you should know:

1. In addition to acquiring majority ownership, CCSC Holdings will assume management responsibilities for the center, as a result terminating the center's previous management agreement with NueHealth.

2. The 18,828-square-foot surgery center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

3. The center has four operating rooms and a medical procedure room. The center can perform up to 5,000 orthopedic, spine, pain and general surgery procedures annually.

4. First Choice appointed Luis Allende Ruiz to be the center's new administrator.

Mr. Ruiz said, "It is my honor to join Crane Creek and lead the implementation of First Choice’s delivery platform that will enable the facility to capture its full market opportunity."
