Fairbanks Memorial Hospital opens surgery center: 4 key notes

Fairbanks (Alaska) Memorial Hospital celebrated its surgery center’s opening with a ribbon cutting on March 9, 2017, 11 NBC reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The health system broke ground on the center in April 2015.

2. The center is 90,000 square feet. It features seven operating suites, admission and pre-admission suites and pre- and post-surgery bays.

3. The operating rooms feature a green light setting to help surgeons see better.

4. The center replaced several 45-year-old surgery suites.
