Licking Memorial Health System began a new medical office building project where Licking Memorial Orthopedic Surgery and Center for Sight will both relocate and expand. Here are five key notes:
1. The new building project is a two-story medical office building spanning 33,260 square feet. The project will likely be complete around August 2016.
2. The construction recently started on this $12 million building. Robertson Construction is heading the project.
3. The orthopedic surgery center, which currently includes two surgeons, will have the second floor of the building. A third orthopedic surgeon is expected to join the group next summer.
4. There are three physicians who will practice as the Center for Sight on the first floor. The Center for Sight entered into a long-term lease with LMHS to occupy the space for at least 10 years.
5. Initially, Licking Memorial Health System plans to use around 60 percent of the second floor for the orthopedic center and could expand services or lease out the additional space.
