Expansion of AZ’s Tucson Medical Center to Include Surgery Center

Tucson (Ariz.) Medical Center is undergoing a $109 million expansion that includes development of a new surgery center, according to an Inside Tucson Business report.

The surgery center is included in a new building that will also house 24 operating rooms, 40 private patient rooms and space leased by the Tucson Orthopaedic Institute.

 

The building is expected to open in April 2013.

 

The hospital has already completed a number of projects as part of the expansion, including expanded pediatrics and mother/baby postpartum units and a new garage.
