Echo Development Group plans to develop a 60,000-square-foot medical office building with a surgery center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Three quick points:

1. The building is going up beside a three-building medical campus anchored by the Colorado Center for Orthopedic Excellence.

2. Echo Development acquired about 5 acres of land for the project.

3. The development site is within 3 miles of Penrose-St. Francis Medical Center and UCHealth Memorial Hospital North, both in Colorado Springs, and Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora.

“Colorado Springs is in the same position Denver was four or five years ago — and given our proximity [to] the surrounding medical activity, we feel great about our prospects,” Echo Development Principal Jon Boyajian said in a press release about the development.
