Danbury Orthopedics opens new surgery center

Danbury (Conn.) Orthopedics has opened an ambulatory surgery center that is part of a $5 million upgrade of its existing White Street facility, according to a report from the Stamford Advocate.

The practice selected a building and gutted it to make way for the ASC and a walk-in clinic. The group also hired 32 new employees to operate the center, according to the report.

"I'm sure people are going to be really impressed with the new facility and all the changes," said Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton in the report. "And while the new facility will certainly benefit the patients, the investment on White Street is also good for all of the downtown."
