Two 40,000-square-foot buildings are planned for the facility, though planning is not complete and CEO Dean Thigpen could not give an estimated cost for the project. The orthopedic group has existed for 25 years and includes 12 physicians, he said.

The group’s specialties at the location will include podiatric surgery, pain management and sports medicine. The facility will employ approximately 75 people, about 40 percent of which will be new to the orthopedic group.

Construction will start this year, according to the report.
