Buffalo, N.Y.-based Catholic Health plans to acquire Sterling Surgical Center in Orchard Park, N.Y., Buffalo Business First reports.
1. Catholic Health bought a 40 percent share in Sterling Surgical Center in 2017. It will obtain an additional 60 percent of shares to become Sterling Surgical Center's sole owner.
2. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in about 90 days, pending state approval.
3. Sterling Surgical Center is located about a mile from Orchard Park-based Southtowns Ambulatory Surgery Center, which is a joint venture between Buffalo-based Kaleida Health and more than a dozen physician owners.
4. The deal expands Catholic Health's outpatient ophthalmology and gastroenterology surgical services in the area. The health system also owns Orchard Park-based Mercy Ambulatory Care Center and outpatient centers in West Seneca, East Aurora and Lackawanna, all in New York.
