Beaufort Memorial Hospital acquires Surgery Center at Beaufort

Beaufort (S.C.) Memorial Hospital has acquired the previously joint ventured Surgery Center at Beaufort, according to a report by The State.

The surgery center opened in 2000, and the hospital initially owned a 40 percent stake. With the close of the acquisition, the hospital will own the center in its entirety.

The multispecialty Surgery Center at Beaufort hosts approximately 450 procedures per month performed by 40 physicians. A number of physicians were on the hospital’s staff prior to the acquisition.
