AmSurg's Sheridan acquires Ambulatory Anesthesia Associates & Genesis Anesthesia Services — 4 things to know

Sheridan, the physician services division of AmSurg, acquired Ambulatory Anesthesia Associates as well as Genesis Anesthesia Services.

Here are four things to know:

1. Combined, AAA and Genesis employ 27 physicians throughout six independent facilities.

2. Through the deal, AmSurg can enter the Southern California market, thereby expanding its anesthesiology services business.

3. AmSurg owned and operated 258 ambulatory surgery centers throughout the nation as of June 30, 2016.

4. AmSurg is in partnership with more than 6,000 physicians and other healthcare professionals in 40 states and Washington, D.C.
