AmSurg’s Sheridan acquires AllegiantMD — 5 points

Sheridan, the physician services division of AmSurg, acquired AllegiantMD, a provider of radiology services in Tampa, Fla.

Here are five points:

1. Serving 18 Tampa facilities, AllegiantMD provides most of its services to Hospital Corporation of America as well as Community Health Systems acute care hospitals.

2. Sheridan’s current radiology profile consists of more than 300 radiologists at 150 facilities throughout the United States.

3. In 2015, AmSurg increased its radiology portfolio through acquisitions including Radisphere, which has offices in Ohio and Connecticut, as well as Radiology Associates in Hollywood, Fla.

4. As of March 31, 2016, AmSurg owned and operated 256 ambulatory surgery centers as well as one surgical hospital.

5. AmSurg is in partnership with more than 5,000 physicians throughout 38 states and Washington, D.C.
