1. Healthcare Bluebook is a website designed to provide consumers with quality and cost information for healthcare providers. The site includes fair pricing for procedures based on zip code.
2. The new partnership between AmSurg and Healthcare Bluebook provides a marketplace comparison tool for Nashville healthcare consumers that could help residents save around $50 million annually by shifting their care to the lower cost setting.
3. Healthcare Bluebook evaluates the price and quality in each market and gives a "Green Light" designation that indicates providers with high quality and fair pricing. AmSurg centers were the first Value Certified Providers in Nashville.
4. Most AmSurg centers across the country have Healthcare Bluebook's "Green Light" designation.
5. AmSurg President Philip Clendenin announced the new tool on March 14. "It's easier for healthcare insiders to understand how to shop for healthcare. But this tool turns all consumers into insiders," he said.
