AmSurg acquires Pennsylvania surgery center

Nashville, Tenn.-based AmSurg has acquired a surgery center in Altoona, Pa.

Advanced Center for Surgery has four operating rooms and is led by 17 physicians across specialties including orthopedics, podiatry and ear, nose and throat, according to a Dec. 9 news release from AmSurg. 

The 12,500-square-foot center was the first ASC in the state to perform outpatient total joint replacements. 

The partnership marks AmSurg’s first ASC in the central region of Pennsylvania, the release said.
