Amsurg has acquired Capital Surgery Center in Baton Rouge, La., marking the Nashville, Tenn.-based ASC operator’s eighth facility in Louisiana and second in the Baton Rouge market.
Capital Surgery Center operates an 8,250-square-foot outpatient facility at 8250 Picardy Avenue with two operating rooms. The center partners with 10 physicians who provide pain management and orthopedic care, and it is open and accepting patients.
“Capital Surgery Center has built a strong reputation for providing specialized pain management and orthopedic care to patients in their community with an unwavering commitment to quality,” said Dina Palmisano, vice president of development at Amsurg. “We’re honored to welcome their physicians and team to the Amsurg network and look forward to partnering with them as they continue growing.”
The deal extends a string of Louisiana additions for AmSurg, which acquired Pinnacle Surgery Center in Covington, La., in April 2025.
Amsurg now operates more than 250 surgery centers across 34 states, a network that St. Louis-based Ascension folded into its outpatient strategy after completing its $3.9 billion acquisition of Amsurg in June 2026.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
